In addition, African mahogany’s unique and internal dampening qualities create balanced across the tonal spectrum and produce a crisp, strong fundamental. With the wood being slightly harder than other species of mahogany, the Ibanez PF12MHCE is able to expand its frequency response, which increases the production in overtones for a rich, and beautifully melodic full-bodied sound.
Dreadnought Cutaway Body
The Ibanez PF12MHCE features a dreadnought cutaway body which has an enormous voice, yet is able to maintain overall tonal balance. Furthermore, the dreadnought cutaway body delivers a boomy full-bodied sound that is ideal for a wide range of genres and playing styles. The PF12MHCE also offers comfort for those more comfortable with bigger-bodied guitars and players with a longer reach. Additionally, the PF12MHCE 2018 features a Venetian cutaway profile, promoting the access to upper fingerboard shredding, enabling players easy access to more challenging chords.

The Ibanez PF12MHCE comes equipped with built-in electronics from Ibanez, making the PF12MHCE perfect for performing musicians. The undersaddle pickup captures the acoustic’s natural voice beautifully and purely, the sound captured can then be tweaked due to its on-board Ibanez preamp. The AEQ-2T features rotary controls for bass, treble, and volume, offering basic tone shaping options for live and rehearsal environments. Additionally, the Ibanez PF12MHCE’s on-board preamp features a convenient built-in tuner, offering precise, quick, and easy tuning for live settings or acoustic jams with fellow musicians.

Unlike standard bridge pins, the PF12MHCE 2018 features advantage bridge pins, that are easier to take out and easier to put in. Each pin features a bulb shaped end, which is not only easy to grip, but also prevents the pin from being pushed in too far, for a reliable performance.
